Baking with Chickens

I've been crushing on this recipe by KatieBird Bakes for months! Carrot cake meets cinnamon bun, what's not to swoon over? This recipe DID NOT disappoint! My knees buckled and I nearly cried tears of joy when I took my first bite of one warm and gooey from the oven.
Here's the weird thing, generally speaking, I do not like carrot cake. I ONLY like the carrot cake from Susie Cakes. But the idea of a carrot cake and cinnamon bun mashup sounded like the best thing in the whole wide world. The swirly buns I like best are the chewy, yeasty ones that have a nice stretch to the dough when you bite them. Other wonderful variations I've tried and loved are Cloudy Kitchen's Earl Grey Swirly Buns and a Cardamom Lemon Sticky Bun that I failed miserably at while baking the first time (the dough didn't rise, I overbaked it, and it was dry and hard).
Wanted to try something different with this episode. We're currently isolated at home and on shelter-in-place orders due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. I miss baking with my friends, hanging out and eating. The coronavirus has changed how we interact and socialize in a digital age. It felt weird to interact via video before, now it's become the norm and how we stay connected to other people. It all feels very Black Mirror. So in an effort to keep it chill and fun, this bake-a-long episode is meant to be like a virtual hang out with me in our kitchen. This is not an instructional video. I'm not teaching you step-by-step how to make this recipe because it's my first time making it. We're going to make it together!
